Onyx is attending the Hong Kong Global Services Fair and is demoing a number of new products. One of them is the Boox Typewriter, which is a two-in-one laptop with an E Ink display. It has a detachable keyboard and has support for a stylus, so you can make notes and highlights when it is in tablet mode.
The Onyx Typewriter might not see the light of day, the company is trying to see if there is any interest in this type of product. It has a 9.7 inch capacitive touchscreen display, runs Android, has Bluetooth and wireless internet access. It has 25 days of battery life when in use and around 50 days in standby mode. It looks like Onyx is trying to compete against the Freewrite and other e Ink enabled typewriters.
