Amazon has just discounted the Kindle Paperwhite 4 by $30. You can purchase the base model with 8GB for $99 and the 32GB WIFI version for $129. If you want an e-reader that has 4G/LTE internet access Amazon has discounted this model by $40 and it is currently retailing for $209. This deal is only for US customers, Amazon has not provided savings for other countries, such as Canada.
The Kindle Paperwhite 4 is waterproof and has the Audible audiobook store. You can listen to audio titles with a pair of wireless headphones or a portable speaker. The screen is completely flush with the bezel, so it is easier to turn pages with swipes and gestures.
The Paperwhite 4 features a 6 inch E Ink Carta HD capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1072×1448 and 300 PPI. Amazon is using a plastic-backed 300ppi E Ink display, but it isn’t E Ink Mobius; it’s the company’s own design and it is made of plastic, not glass. Underneath the hood is a Freescale 6SLL Cortex-A9 @800M/1GHz processor and 512MB LPDDR3 of RAM.
