The wildly popular Apple iBooks Application today received an upgrade that is sure to inspire people to produce more multimedia driven e-books.
The update entitled 1.1.1 is available via iTunes and the App Store and will allow your iPad to view PDF’s via iBooks. It also will allow embedded audio and video content. Also pictures inside books can be zoomed in and have the picture displayed in full screen view by double clicking on the picture.
One of the great features that is enabled on the application is for users who use the ePub format for books. You will now have the Dictionary Look-up feature enabled. This will allow you to lookup words you do not know the meaning to! It is features like this, that really add a dimension to e-book reading. How many times have you read a book and wondered what a particular word meant? Only to open up a dictionary and look it up. Its so easy with this application to expand your literary horizons.
