You will face a strange scenario with the Lenovo M9 tablet and the Nook e-reader application. Many users reported that the Nook Android app is not functional on the Lenovo Android tablet device, and the problem is that this isn’t the result of an inadvertent bug or error. Instead, as the e-Book Reader Blog stated, all of this has been intentionally done by B&N, which means the particular Lenovo tablet will never have access to the Nook app.
The thing is, B&N offers an entry-level Lenovo tablet that comes with the Nook branding. Understandably, the tablet comes pre-loaded with the Nook app and usually sells for around $149. However, Lenovo also offers the same M9 Android tablet without the Nook badging. The problem is with this Lenovo tablet, which the Nook Android app does not support. The tablet usually sells for around $100 to $110. However, you won’t be able to take advantage of the lower price if one of the primary reasons for purchasing the tablet is to read or listen to content from B&N.
Of course, B&N wants the Nook co-branded tablet to sell more than the standalone Lenovo version, and one way it can enforce this exclusivity is by blocking the Nook app on the M9 model. This might not be a massive leverage for B&N to influence Lenovo M9 buyers, but that’s the best it can do to ensure increased demand for the model it sells. It all boils down to whether you wish to buy the device for its various other capabilities or whether using the Nook app is a top priority.
B&N has also pointed out on its website that its Nook Android app will not work on Lenovo tablets with the model code TB310FU. The company is attributing this to a conflict with the launch of the Lenovo tablet. Maybe the bookseller didn’t want Lenovo to have a standalone version of the tablet for sale, though this is mere speculation, it must be said.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
