We took a stroll around the Computex Trade Show today and found something we did not expect, a new Magazine Style 13 Inch Color E-Reader!
Taiwan based Delta Electronics said that their new 13-inch color e-book reader will debut around December of this year. This E-Reader stood out from a few other e-readers we saw at the tradeshow which were in monochrome E-Ink. The Battery life was said to hold around 6,000 pages and only weights 700 Grams.
The product is named the “e-Magazine”; the model uses particle-based technologies that Delta has developed in collaboration with Japan’s Bridgestone Corp. The company claimed that it is the only maker that is able to provide real pen input on the market as its product has faster response time than other e-book readers on the market. They also claimed that their page turns were faster than e-ink ones.
A larger E-Reader that displays color may just be what the doctor ordered, lightweight and able to be read outdoors, will be interested in knowing more details, like the operating system, cost, and content distribution systems.
