Welcome to another Good e-Reader Video Tutorial! Today we show you how to copy ebooks to your Amazon Kindle Special Offers e-reader using Calibre and Windows Explorer.
Calibre is a free download and open source program. It gives you a tremendous amount of flexibility in managing your Amazon Kindle. You can do things like changing the author and title of the book, easily and effectively. During this tutorial we show you the entire process of using Calibre and even demonstrate converting ebooks from one format to another.
Converting ebooks is a useful skill to learn because many books you might download from the internet are incompatible with the Amazon Kindle. The most popular ebook formats on the internet is PDF and EPUB. Although the Kindle reads PDF it does not do it that well unless it has been optimized for the smaller screen. It firmly does not read EPUB books at all and you will have to convert them! No matter what ebook format you might download from the internet, most can be converted to MOBI or PRC using Calibre. These are the two formats the Kindle reads the best if you are editing books or creating your own.
The Last method we show you is how to copy ebooks to the Amazon Kindle with Special Offers is via Windows Explorer. We give you an overview of the directory structure of your Kindle and where exactly you should copy and paste your books.
