The Novel e-reader from Pandigital may not exactly be going great guns, but here’s some solace for all those who were pinning high hopes on the Novel. For as per the latest e-reader news, here comes another e-reader that shares a lot of similarity with the Novel but promises you a far better deal that what the Pandigital offering could.
Welcome the new color e-reader from Newman, the C66. Newman isn’t new to the Chinese e-reader market and has built up quite a reputation with their Newsmy range of e-readers there. And early reports is pointing towards a new e-reader that is all set to enter the market, which would make this their fourth product in this segment.
The C66 also marks the Newman’s first foray in LCD display and is going to be a break from their earlier e-readers that were based on e-ink technology. The new e-reader is being touted as a device that not only will be considerably faster than their earlier models but will also have a lot more crisp and sharp color display. Further, Newman also revealed the C66 will also be able to support 1080P HD quality video playback, something that couldn’t have been possible had it been based on e-ink display. There have been no official confirmation from Newman but the screen seems to be in the 7 inch category.
Another significant design advantage with the C66 in comparison to the Novel is the arrangement of Ports in the former, which are all arranged along the bottom of the e-reader. This is surely better than having them scattered all along as in the Novel. Then the C66 is also half as heavy as the Novel, having a weight of around 8 ounces.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
