Oaxis has been developing E Ink cases for Android and iPhones for a number of years the company has just announced a new one for the iPhone 7 Plus. The i7 Plus now has the latest Carta 1.2 E Ink panel; the most advanced E Ink screen available in the industry. The contrast is vastly improved where white is brighter and black is darker, a huge improvement when compared to the E Ink Pearl used in most e-reader devices.
The InkCase i7 Plus features a 5.2 inch E Ink Carta display with a resolution of 960×540 with 217 PPI. It comes with 128MB RAM and 256MB internal storage. With an IP67 rating, the case is also now waterproof, dust proof and sand proof and with the shockproof case now utilising BubblePro Technology, you can be sure your device will be fully protected. It is also extremely lightweight, adding only 0.18″ / 4.5mm to the back of your iPhone 7 Plus.
The Inkcase has a dedicated app for iOS and has a ton of functionality. There are camera filters for selfies, an e-reading app, news, weather, and photos so you can customize the E Ink screen with an image or slideshow. You can even browse the internet and search for anything that you want, including ebay coupons or sites like SBI Signature Card offer on movie tickets.
The InkCase i7 Plus is available on Kickstarter for $123, which is the early bird price. The price goes up once 300 of them have been sold and Oaxis has told me that they are going to be shipping out the product in August.
