Overdrive has just updated their official application for Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone 7 today. The company is becoming more focused on mobile devices since in the last quarter the number of users checking out audiobooks and ebooks has increased by over 33%.
The new version of the application is 2.4 and it brings a few new features to the Media Console app that is available for free. There is now a new option to let you return books and audiobooks early! This is a boon for new releases and books in high demand. You can also find definitions while reading using the dictionary lookup feature. Users can also use Wikipedia search, too! If you find yourself listening to audiobooks as you are fading off to sleep for the evening there is a new option to set the timer for books to automatically stop playing at a certain time. Finally, due to popular demand there is now an orientation lock for people with tablets and phones that found themselves accidentally switching from landscape to portrait mode.
You can download the latest edition of the Overdrive Media App for Android from our official Good e-Reader Android App Store HERE.
