The Sony Digital Paper line of digital note taking devices has only been available in one color in North America, Black. Sony is changing their tune and is now offering a white version of the DPT-RP1 that will be released via Amazon on January 13th 2019 and B&H sometime in February. It is currently unknown of the other Sony resellers, such as Best Buy will eventually provide the the DPT in white.
Digital Paper is Sony’s product line that has been ongoing since 2016 and they have released multiple generations since then. Sony only sells the DPT in two different countries, Japan and the United States. The DPT has only been available in white in Japan and Black in the United States. The two color system gave tech savvy customers knowledge on what model they were buying online through auction sites like EBAY or 3rd party Amazon resellers. This is important to note because the Japanese version is incompatible in the US, because it is region locked and the language cannot be changed.
