Sony has put on sale its remaining accessories for the Sony PRS-T1 over the last few days. The US Sony store has the lighted leather cover on its website for $19.99 from the regular price of $49.99. We have contacted many authorized Sony Retailers and they told us that they are unable to order new stock and the covers are discontinued. Sony has also discontinued the PRS-T1 on its main USA website and other retail partners are also displaying “Product Unavailable.” This means that the PRS-T2 that hit the FCC a few weeks ago is very close to launch. Another factor to consider is if the cases are being discontinued, it means the T2 will have a different form than the original.
Sony intends on only rolling out the new T2 in the USA, Canada, and the UK for now. In the meantime, if you live in Australia, New Zealand, or Europe, you can pre-order it today from Shop e-Readers.
