Sony’s new Wi-Fi only e-reader, PRS-T1, with which it hopes to take the battle to the Amazon Kindle or the Nook Color, is now up for pre-order. Price has been kept competitive at $149, with the official Sony site now accepting pre-orders for the new e-reader. Shipping date mentioned is “on or about” October 16th as of now.
The price though isn’t the only reason making the Sony PRS-T1 a most sought after device by e-book lovers. For the device based on the latest generation Pearl e-ink display does make reading off the 6 inch display a pleasure. Battery life of the e-reader is another strong point, with Sony claiming it to be around 5 weeks or 14,000 page turns on a single charge.
Other features the new Sony e-reader boasts of include the capability of playing back music files, while the e-reader can also be used for taking notes with the pen that’s part of the package. The e-reader also includes as many as 12 dictionaries, while the 2 GB of on-board storage is good enough for 1,200 e-books, which is further expandable by several more gigs with the use of a microSD card.
The PRS-T1 will also be available in shades of red, black, or white.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
