Bookeen put the word out today that the Cybook Odyssey e-reader will be released November 22nd and cost 150 Euros. It will be available for pre-order starting the 10th of November on Bookeen’s website and from retail partners. This is the first device released by the company to take advantage of their propritary HSIS to provide High Speed e-Ink.
This new device will feature a six inch e-ink pearl display that is fully touchscreen. It will be running on a 800 MHZ Cortex A8 processor. The company developed the processor in conjunction with Texas Instruments the same way Amazon, Sony, and Kobo partnered with Freescale to make custom chips.
The Cybook Odyssey is delivered with over 100 books in order to get the reader started (more than 30 in English). This technological gem is set to definitively revolutionize e-reader devices thanks to its instantaneous ergonomic interface.
