One of the largest Supermarket chains in the United Kingdom have officially announced it will begin to carry the Kobo line of e-readers. During the holiday season they have drastically reduced the price of the entry level WIFI model for £67 and the newly released Kobo Touch will retail for £107.
Duncan Tate, a technology expert at Asda said, “The Kobo e-reader has received rave reviews and we’re delighted to be able to offer it to customers at this breakthrough price before Christmas.” The company was quoted in saying “The price breakthrough on Kobo is part of a range of moves on Asda’s part this year to make reading more affordable and accessible.”
Currently the Kobo e-reader gained much attention in the UK recently when WH Smith decided to carry the entire Kobo line of e-readers at their retail locations. Kobo director of vendor relations, Cameron Drew mentioned that the company is working on more deals with prominent companies are in the works.
