Amazon has just released a new software update for the current and previous generation Kindle Scribe, Kindle Colorsoft, 12th generation Kindles, and 11th generation Kindles. The update is 5.18.3, and we currently know only a few details about it. The Scribe has just received Active Canvas – Move: You can move any inserted Canvas by tapping and holding the canvas with your finger, then dragging the canvas around on the page. The other Kindle’s change log only states that the other Kindles have received performance improvements, bug fixes, and other general enhancements.

If you have a Kindle e-reader, you can check out the software update page to see if your particular model is eligible for it. The firmware should be installed automatically if your device is in sleep mode. Alternatively, you can install it by visiting the settings menu and checking for an update. Amazon does not release new software to everyone all at once. Instead, they do it in a staggered release to not overwhelm their servers.

Aside from the Kindle Scribe, the other Kindles have received general enhancements, and it is unknown what bug fixes they have received. Hopefully, they fixed the slider bar issue to adjust the front-lit display. If you see any outward changes on the Kindle, drop a comment below.
