In early December Good e-Reader reported that Amazon was working on an ebook gifting program and it now available for everyone in the United Kingdom. This system allows someone to buy a digital edition and a link would be sent to the recipients email address, with instructions on how to redeem it. The ebook can then be read on a Kindle e-reader, Fire tablet, Kindle Cloud Reader, or for Kindle for Android or iOS.
This is the first time that the “Buy for others” or the “gifting” program has been available outside the US, since it first launched in 2010. Full instructions on how to buy for someone else is available on the Amazon UK website.
