Comic Pool is a new digital magazine produced by Ichijinsha, a Japanese publisher, and Pixiv, an online platform for artist. The two companies have joined forces to produce a new electronic magazine entitled comic POOL, which debuted today. The goal of the magazine is to nurture up-and-coming manga artists by highlighting their work and promoting it to more casual online manga fans.
The Comic Pool website will be updated twice a month and will put the spotlight on new and emerging artists. It is very likely that Ichijinsha and Pixiv will use this system as a proving ground to find people to eventually graduate to their more serious publications such Zero Sum Online Palette Online and the Pixiv Comic manga service.
