Manga fans will soon be able to catch up with their favorite manga via a new device – the Nintendo Switch, AnimeNewsNetwork reported. The new manga reader app is slated for launch on March 13, 2025, a CoroCoro editorial member revealed via a post on X (former Twitter). The image that Tatsuki Waki of the Monthly ‘CoroCoro Comic’ shared on X shows the manga being displayed in portrait mode. It is not known if that is the default mode but users will be able to change the orientation via D-Pad. Thereafter, there is the joystick which can be used to turn pages while the X and Y face buttons can be used to zoom in if you’d like to have a closer look.

There isn’t much that is known about the manga reader at the moment. For instance, we’d like to know if the application is going to be available to users outside Japan, and if it is, will users have access to the Shogakugan manga catalog as well. Shogakukan had on January 23 introduced its new NOVELOUS app for the iOS and Android platforms for reading light novels and manga. The app is available to users in the United States and Canada. The NOVELOUS app is known to have manga that has been translated into English using AI.
Meanwhile, the post on X depicts an image from the magazine Unmei no Makimodo Shi – All Great Achievements Require Time manga by Fūta Kimura.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
