Fans of My Hero Academia received surprising news today as Shueisha announced that Kōhei Horikoshi’s long-running manga series will soon reach its conclusion. In a video released on Monday, the publisher revealed that the final chapter of the manga will be published in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine’s combined 36th and 37th issue. It will be hitting shelves on August 5.
This announcement follows Horikoshi’s recent statement that the manga would enter its epilogue phase starting on June 3, promising readers a conclusion “in a short while.” Currently on a brief hiatus, the manga is scheduled to resume on July 1.
Debuting in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014, My Hero Academia quickly gained a massive following worldwide. The manga’s English version is published digitally and in print by Viz Media in North America. The series is also available on Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service.
With over 100 million copies in circulation globally as of April, the manga’s popularity has extended beyond its pages. It has spawned six television anime seasons and several special episodes. Season seven premiered on April 6 with a four-episode special called My Hero Academia Memories, followed by the main season starting on May 4 with episode 139 of the series.
In addition to its anime success, My Hero Academia has also produced three feature films. The upcoming fourth film, titled My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: You’re Next, is set to debut on August 2, with Horikoshi once again overseeing as the general supervisor and original character designer.
As fans prepare to bid farewell to this beloved series, the anticipation builds for the final chapters that will conclude the epic saga of heroes and villains in My Hero Academia.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
