Onyx Boox had earlier announced it is in the process of launching a new 6-inch e-reader device. It has now come to light that the upcoming e-reader is going to be called the A6 and is all set for an official launch on August 22, ITHome reported. The company revealed this effect on its official Weibo account, which referred to the upcoming e-reader as the ‘A6 Eye Protection Intensive Reading Book’.
The A6 is also likely to be primarily targeted at the student community and is expected to come with enough hardware and software enhancements to justify the badging. The company’s image shows the e-reader with orange outer cladding. The device itself is done up in a shade of white and will have a monochrome display.
Also, in what will be the most striking design element of the A6 e-reader, there is the speaker at the top with a unique AI button, all accommodated in a single raised platform and sporting a contrasting shade of grey. This hints at more emphasis on making the device a learning or a teaching aid than anything else.
Apart from this, we know almost nothing about the upcoming e-reader. However, it is likely that it will be a domestic Chinese exclusive. Stay tuned for the latest on this as it emerges.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
