Onyx Boox has just released a new Android app for smartphones and tablets. It allows you to wirelessly send documents, PDF files and ebooks from your device to an Onyx Boox e-reader or enote. All you need to do get started is download the app from the Good e-Reader App Store, register an account and follow the instructions.
In order for this system to work on your Onyx device, you must have firmware version 2.3 or higher. There is 1GB of cloud storage available for all of the things you are syncing between your phone/tablet and the Onyx Boox device.
What I like about this new syncing system and the app, is that you can send things from your Onyx device, such as notes or edited PDF files and send them directly to your smartphone. You can view all of your content directly on the smartphone, if you need to show people stuff, or to print. This saves time with the old way of doing things where you had save your note as a PDF or PNG, plug it into your PC and then navigate to the notes or PDF directory and then copy/paste. You can also push Google Docs, audiobooks or even web articles.
Additionally, Onyx has a new website called push.boox.com, you can sign in with your PC and register an account by phone number or email address. You will then receive a verification code to login, once this process is completed the first time, you don’t have to reverify. This is where you can view your local notes, reading notes and other digital content. You can bind your phone and Onyx Boox device to your account and then Push things from your local PC to the Onyx and vice versa.
Onyx has released a tutorial video that showcases everything you need to do to get started and explains all of the key features.
