The TCL 60 NXTPAPER was launched early this year and is positioned as an entry-level smartphone featuring the company’s proprietary NxtPaper color e-paper display technology. The good news here is that TCL has announced the availability of smartphones for the overseas market. As phablet.jp reported, the phone will make it to Asian and Latin American markets soon, where it is going to be priced around 199.99 euros.
Coming to its specs, the phone comes with a 6.8-inch FHD+ NxtPaper display having a 90 Hz refresh rate and a 20.5:9 aspect ratio. It comes with a dedicated NxtPaper Key that invokes the Max Ink Mode when engaged. This is the closest you can have to a paper-like feel, similar to what you have on any E Ink device, such as the Kindle or the Kobo. The Max Ink Mode also maximizes battery life, lasting up to 7 days. It otherwise comes with a 5200 mAh battery backed by a 33W charger.
Under the hood, it has a MediaTek Helio G92 2.0GHz Octa-core processor and a Mali G57 GPU. It has 8 GB of memory onboard and 512 GB of storage, which can be expanded to 2 TB via microSD cards. It has a 106 MP + 2 MP dual camera setup at the rear and a 32 MP front camera for optics. It runs Android 15 with the company’s TCL Ui on top. The phone also boasts an IP54 rating for water resistance.
The phone’s other features are a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, an earphone jack, and a Type-C port. It supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1 as well as 4G networks. It measures 167.6 X 75.5 X 7.85mm and weighs 190 grams.
All of this makes the new TCL 60 NxtPaper a solid entry-level phone offering that can be a great e-reader device as well, that you can carry around in your pocket.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
