The TCL 60 SE NXTPAPER 5G smartphone is now available to buy in the overseas market, the Chinese manufacturer revealed. The smartphone which was unveiled at the CES event early this year has so far been only available in China. However, it has not been launched in several markets worldwide, which includes Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Latin American countries.
This comes close on the heels of the company introducing the TCL 60 NXTPAPER 5G in several international markets just last month. The TCL 60 SE NXTPAPER 5G sits a rung lower and comes across as a more affordable option for those who’d prefer a complete smartphone experience but one that offers a display that mimics the e-paper display of e-reader devices such as the Kindle.
The TCL 60 SE NXTPAPER 5G is going to be priced at 189 euros in the aforementioned regions and will be available in shades of Space Gray and Mint Green. The TCL 60 NXTPAPER 5G with better specs is priced slightly higher at around 199.99 euros. Makes me wonder why anyone would settle for a smartphone that is a bit less capable when you have a better device priced just 10 euros more.
Coming to the specs, the TCL 60 SE NXTPAPER 5G comes with a 6.7-inch 120Hz HD NXTPAPER display. As already stated, the display offers a paper-like feel that is completely glare-free and has low blue-light emission. You can invoke the Max Ink Mode with the press of a single button. The Max Ink Mode is also the one that offers a distraction-free reading experience akin to e-reader devices. Battery life also gets extended to around a week in this mode.
Under the hood lies an Octa-core 2.4GHz MediaTek Dimensity 6300 CPU and a Mali-G57 processor, along with 8 GB of memory and 256 GB of storage. You have the option to add another 10 GB of memory,y while storage can be expanded to up to 2 TB via microSD cards. Power comes from a 5200 mAh battery that is backed by an 18W charger. It runs Android 15 while the built-in AI feature allows several convenient features such as creative writing, summarizing articles, creating meeting minutes, and so on.
The TCL 60 SE NXTPAPER 5G also comes with dual 50MP rear cameras, along with an 8 MP selfie cam at the front. Other features include dual speakers and an IP54 rating against water and dust ingress. It supports Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi connectivity. Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, a proximity sensor, a light sensor, an e-compass, and a gyroscope. It measures 165.6 x 76.2 x 8.2 mm in size and weighs 190 grams.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
