Sony has their own private crowd funding platform available to residents of Japan. They used it for their first generation e-ink watch, which did not get favorable reviews, due to the poor build quality. Their second generation model was just posted today, but it comes at a higher cost. The old model was $240 and the new one is a staggering $440.
The new Sony FES watch has a solid-looking frame, a water resistant design, and a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery (rather than the coin cell battery used in the original). You should get around 3 weeks of battery life and it connects up to your iPhone via Bluetooth.
