We have just launched a dedicated news app for Android and it provides a very customizable reading experience. You can save your favorite stories or totally remove the ones you have already read. There is a day and night theme and plenty of font options to enlarge or reduce the size of the text. Good e-Reader News is exclusively designed for smartphones and tablets.
Over the years we have developed many different news apps for Android and none of them were really good. The very first one we launched in 2011 had a super clunky design that was not responsive to phones or tablets, but what app was at the time. The next few apps were super basic RSS readers that simply provided you the mobile version of our site. This wasn’t an ideal solution because all of our widgets and images on our sidebar were getting in the way of a really slick experience.
The News by Good e-Reader app was designed from the ground-up for a mobile first experience and also suitable for large screen tablets. One of the big things I am excited about are all of the different ways you can view an article. You can strip away all of the images, so it is just basic text. Card View gives you big images and just a snippet of text on what the article is about. Magazine view makes everything look clean and is a good balance between image size and news snippets.
You can download the free Good e-Reader News app for your Amazon Fire Tablet, Good e-Reader App Store or via Google Play. Also make sure to check out the new landing page for our flagship app, Audio Reader.
