Apple launched its new iCloud beta service tonight exclusively for developers wishing to test the sync function with their applications.
So what exactly is iCloud and how does it affect you? In short iCloud is Apple;s new cloud storage program for iOS 5 and OSX Lion. This is a replacement for the seldom used Mobileme program and gives users the ability to store photos, apps, music, and videos. This content can then be shared and accessed via your various devices. This should allow people to at least use iTunes less and store more content in the cloud. It may be a good idea to buy a lower end iPad and store most of your content in the cloud, freeing up valuable space.
iCloud delivers 5 GB of storage for free and costs more on various tiers of cloud storage. It costs 10 GB of storage for $20, 20 GB for $40, and 50 GB for $100
