Here is one more contender in the 7 inch tablet segment in Europe. Its the Ziio 7 from Creative that, as per the latest tablet PC news is now on sale in many of the European cities trying to make life difficult for the Galaxy Tabs and the ViewPads and so on.
However, the Ziio 7 may not be among the top of the line tablet devices out there, something that shows with the specs that it boasts of which sure looks modest. Like its still stuck to Android 2.1 when there is already two later versions, Android 2.3 Gingerbread that has been launched and there is no word if the Ziio 7 can be upgraded to Android 2.3. The 7 inch capacitive touchscreen has the usual resolution of 800 x 480 pixels while its heart is made up of a Zii Labs ZMS-08 media processor.
On board storage though is quite cramped at just 8 GB for a tablet that boasts of great media capabilities, compatible as it is with almost every known media formats. Connectivity options with the Ziio 7 include Bluetooth 2.1 EDR and WiFi 802.11 b/g while the device also features mini USB port, 3.5 mm stereo jack as well as a video out port. The tablet done up in all white measures 207.4 x 133 x 13.7 mm and weight just 400 gms.
However, the tablet scores with its quite affordable price tag of 249 Euros for the base version comprising of 8 GB storage while there is also the option of a higher capacity Ziio 7 having double the storage but will cost 20 Euros more. Still, not a bad buy looking for a stylish tablet PC that is compact and light.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
