Reliance 3G Tab has a new competitor of sorts in the form of a new 7 inch Android tablet named MiTab. The tablet has been launched by S Mobility, earlier known as Spice Mobile. Also, S Mobility has made things a lot easier for tablet enthusiasts by pricing it at a quite convenient Rs. 12,990.
Feature wise, the MiTab 7 comes with integrated 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The tablet includes a 2 megapixel camera at the rear, while one will have to make do with a VGA unit at the front. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MHz Turbo processor makes up the heart of the tablet while a Adreno 200 Graphics processor ensures smooth operation when having to deal with rich multimedia or gaming files. As for storage, the MiTab comes with 4 GB of internal memory, expandable to 32 GB via SD card slot.
The 7 inch 800 x 480 pixel capacitive screen display makes up the visible interface of the MiTab. Being Adobe flash player compliant, the MiTab will allow exploring the Net in its entirety. Also, like many of its 7 inch compatriots, the MiTab will function as a smartphone as well, with a Bluetooth headset accessory saving users from the otherwise embarrassing situation of having to hold something that big to their ears while making phone calls.
However, one disappointment to many is the fact that the MiTab runs on Android 2.2. In comparison, the Reliance Tab is a tad better as it’s based on Android 2.3.
BK Modi, the chairman of S Mobility, said during the tablet launch: “Mobile Internet is a revolution, a new trend which comes from the customers’ connectivity need to be always on. Tablets play an important part in this revolution. Tablets may very well be the 1st PC for most of the Indians. There has been a growing demand for ‘tabs’ which can do so much ranging from multimedia to social networking to even your official work.”
You can pick up the device from online stores at www.saholic.com. You can also get the set at 50,000 retail points, which also includes the 750+ Spice HotSpot retail network points.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
