ezGear is well known for their forays into accessories for the Apple line of entertainment devices, as well as gaming and video accessories. They just did not stop at being a proprietor of superfluous extras for your gear, but have just released their own Android Tablet PC called “The SurfBoard 700”
The ezGear SurfBoard is a 7 inch Tablet PC with a resolution of 800×400 pixels. The Processor they used on this device was a RockChip’s RK2818 chipset. It also features a 2 MP camera, which is capable of running video chat and conferencing. Its video screen is only capable for of 720 I for resolution so do not expect 1080 P quality for movie viewing.
This device also features WI-FI and has a USB 2.0 port on it and also has a HDMI port on it as well. The device meets all the needs of a tablet with its headphone jack, stereo speakers, and a Micro SD Slot with the upgrade potential of around 32 GB. Taking a look at the battery life, it has a Lithium Polymer battery, so you can expect 20 hours of play back listening to music or 10 hours of video play back.
Although in the ezGear Surfboard product description it says it is touch screen, but does not mention that is multi touchscreen which leads us to believe it will be running the 1.6 version of the Android Operating System. We tried to investigate the price on this SurfBoard but no mention of price was made on their website, and when we tried to get more information, the website gave us a contact form for a Rock Band custom guitar, hopefully this is not a prelude of things to come.
