Kobo has just issued a new software update for the Kobo Clara BW and the Kobo Clara Colour. No other models have received this update. The change log does not disclose anything interesting in this new firmware. It merely states; “various bug fixes and stability improvements.” The last update for Kobo e-readers was eight months ago, so it has been a very long time since there have been any sort of enhancements or new features.
However, there should be a massive update sometime in the next month. This is due to Mozilla Pocket being discontinued and it has to be removed from Kobo e-readers since it will no longer work. Kobo has still not officially announced that Pocket will be going away, except a help file on there website. Currently, there is no word if Kobo will implement another read it later service. Customers are up in arms about the Pocket closure.
