Apple intends on refreshing their iPod product line with three new models. The iPod Touch, iPod Shuffle and iPod Nano are poised to be announced on July 15th 2015 and should be available on the main Apple website fairly soon.
The iPod lineup has been seemingly neglected for years, this year could be an opportune time for an update, as Apple works to further integrates Beats products into its ecosystem. The popular headphone maker was acquired for $3 billion last year.
A French website by the name of iGen.fr broke the news on the product line upgrade last week and the report claims the new iPod touch should be a more significant update, likely including a bump to a 64-bit A-based processor and the five-megapixel camera internal storage options could also be upgraded. Meanwhile the iPod nano and iPod shuffle may be refreshed with new colors only.
The main change in the Nano and Shuffle will be the sheer amount of color options that will be available. The colors that will be available are silver, space gray, red, bright pink, deep blue, and light gold. The latter three colors, pink, blue, and gold, are new shades that are not currently available. The space gray model may be slightly darker than the existing color, but it’s difficult to determine from images alone.
