Another Taiwan based company MiTAC, which has a more prominent presence in the GPS systems and mobile entertainment devices segments has drawn up grand tablet plans to tap into the mobile computing market that is booming at the moment. Towards this, the company has lined up 4 new devices which they intend to showcase at the upcoming CeBIT event in Germany.
First off, there are two Android tablets – Valar 7 and Valar 10 which, as is discernable, comes with a 7 and 10 inch display respectably. However, both the tablets run Android 2.3 Gingerbread when the rest of the world is waking up to Android 3.0 Honeycomb. The tablets feature a 1080p out port and is also capable of playing back 1080p quality videos. Then the tablets also include GPS units.
Next in line is a rugged tablet with a 7 inch display. Named Ulmo, the tablet comes encased within a waterproof layer and is another one to be based on the Android operating system.
The last in the series is also the smallest of the lot. With a 6 inch display, the tablet also features a slim form factor, having a depth of just 11.6mm. Christened Zeus, the one unique aspect of the tablet is that it includes dual GPS receivers for enhanced navigation quality. In fact, the Zeus is the first tablet in the world to pack twin GPS units.
