Onyx Boox unveiled the Note Max device over a month ago but was unavailable for purchase. That is, until now, when it has been put on sale via the official company website and Amazon. The 13.3-inch E Ink tablet can be ordered at Amazon for $649; shipping is slated to begin towards the end of this month.
With its 13.3-inch monochrome display, the Boox Note Max has been the topic of discussion in tech circles ever since its launch. The tablet is designed to aid in productivity-oriented tasks, which should suffice well enough given its rather expansive display and stylus support. The Note Max has the latest E Ink Carta 1300 display, which offers excellent contrast and brightness. The 300 PPI resolution makes texts and images look sharp and crisp.
A nice thing about the Note Max is that it runs the more recent Android 13 version, even though most E Ink tablets launched recently come pre-installed with Android 14. The Note Max also allows the installation of other Android applications via the Play Store. You will not be tied down with the company’s apps and opt for those you need from the Google Play Store. Those can be applications for reading e-books, note-taking, drawing, etc. Onyx Boox has also optimized the apps to ensure superior performance on the Note Max.
The Note Max also supports the company’s proprietary BSR screen refresh technology, which keeps the display clean and fresh. There will be almost zero remnants of the previous display, and page refresh times will be fast. This makes it convenient for comprehending different document types, making the device highly beneficial for office work. PDF files or pages with many images load quickly enough for easy comprehension.
The 2.8 GHz Qualcomm octa-core processor onboard further enhances performance. It works with 6 GB of memory and 128 GB of storage. However, a microSD card slot is unavailable, so more storage is impossible. The tablet also includes dual stereo speakers, a mic, Bluetooth 5.0, and a Type-C port. The 3700 mAh battery provides power, comfortably keeping the device going for several days.
The Boox Note Max is now on sale on Amazon for $649, and the keyboard case costs an additional $150. Many people who already received their devices are really liking it so far.
