Amazon has been running a program in the United States called Kindle Rewards or Kindle Points. Customers earn points for buying books and can redeem them for Kindle book credit. This applies to not only Kindle books but also to hardcovers and paperbacks. Once you accumulate 300 points, you can redeem them for $3 in book credit. Why should you care about this program?
Here is how the program works in 2025. You earn 3 Kindle Points per dollar spent on Kindle books and 1 Kindle Point per dollar spent on print books. The number of points is listed on the Amazon website under the price. Sometimes, Amazon offers double the points that they announce on social media. These often run for a few days or, in some rare cases, last one week. Kindle Points will expire after three months, so it is essential to visit the Kindle Rewards home page and review your points every couple of months. Once you have enough points for redemption, you can select the “Redeem” button directly below your point balance.
Kindle Rewards launched in 2022, and it used to offer more points across the board, but Amazon changed the system one year later. Amazon hardly advertises the program, but for people who buy lots of books, it does make sense to get free money for even more books. However, it is only available for customers in the USA and no other countries.
