Spotify is rumored to get involved in the audiobook business with a partnership with Scribd. Spotify has released a new survey asking people about audiobooks and Scribd in particular. It is a given that all of the audiobooks would be ad-free and would be able to be listened to offline.
Last month Spotify unveiled a bundling plan in conjunction with Hulu in the United States. Users pay $12.99 per month and get access to both services. It is very likely that the Scribd add-on would cost an additional $2.99 per month and users would get one credit to redeem for one audiobooks. Scribd on its own costs $9 per month for an unlimited number of audiobooks.
If Spotify decided to pull the trigger and offer Scribd access it would boost their profile and drive more subscribers over to Scribd platform. It is my belief that currently Scribd is the best unlimited ebook and audiobook option right now, their app is more polished than Playster and has a deeper library than Kindle Unlimited.
