Bigme has announced that it will launch the world’s first E Ink monitor featuring a 13.3-inch color e-paper display, ITHome reported. The company has yet to reveal the full specs but has stated the display will have a color resolution of 150 PPI, which likely points to it being a Kaleido 3 display at work. However, the one aspect that is going to make the display special is its 30 frames per second refresh rate.
This is going to be about a three-fold improvement over the around 10 – 12 frames per second that a standard e-paper display is capable of. However, the company has yet to reveal what technology it is going to use to achieve the 30 FPS refresh rate. What is intriguing is that just days back, iReader launched its new Ocean 4 Turbo 2025 e-reader, which too boasts a 30 FPS display refresh rate.
Coming back to the upcoming Bigme 13.3-inch monitor, it is touted to come with reverse touch functionality. Further, the monitor is going to be compatible with both macOS and Windows. It can serve as a secondary display for your laptop or desktop PC. You can always switch to the e-paper monitor for reading or editing documents. This way, you will be saved from staring at an illuminated display for long hours and prevent eye fatigue.
Bigme, however, stated it will be revealing further details, including its launch plans and pricing structure soon. Meanwhile, the company recently launched the B7 e-note device featuring a 7-inch color e-paper display. The B7 is unique in that it comes with cellular support and will be offering a smartphone-like always-on feature. For this, it comes with a SIM card slot and supports 4G LTE connectivity.
Yet another aspect that makes the B7 stand apart from the rest is its Android 15-based OS. This makes it the only e-note currently available to run the latest Android version. Other specs include a 2.4GHz octa-core processor, 8 GB RAM, and 128 GB native storage. It likely is priced around $229 USD and is going to be available for overseas buyers. Even buyers in China will have to buy the B7 in USD.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
