The third annual Amazon Prime Day is occurring on July Tuesday, July 11, 2017 with hundreds of thousands of deals exclusively for Prime members around the world. This is the first year Amazon is leveraging their Twitch acquisition to let them know they can subscribe to a streamer for free with Twitch Prime. If you use Twitch, you can get a free Overwatch Loot Crate and skins for PlayerUnknowns Battleground.
Traditionally Prime Day is just a huge landing page with a bunch of top products, such as 4K televisions, electronics and books. This year Amazon is changing things up. They have a new Wishlist system where you can enter products you might be interested in and then download the Amazon Shopping App and get real time alerts on similar products that you would be interesting it. I assume this would benefit people who are working during Prime Day and not relentlessly checking the main website every few minutes.
This year Amazon has a number of cards on their main landing page that helps you find specific things. You can save 60% off a six month Audible subscription or save 50% off Prime phones, such as the new Alcatel models or Blu. There are also links to Amazon Pantry and subscribe and save.
When we get closer to Prime Day this landing page will likely change and get more refined, but I dig the card approach. All of the images are bright and vibrant, each a stark contrast. Â They really stand out and I like how it is promoting little aspects of Prime, that many people might be unfamiliar with.
