Chapters and Indigo Books are bringing back an author autograph signing service that the bookseller first launched in 2014. This year they have stocked a respectable selection of 48 different titles that can initially only be ordered online.
There are a number of notable hardcover books that have been autographed by the author that would be a great addition to anybodies collection. The prices range from $24.99 to $34.99 and there are only a few hundred copies of each book available to order.
Some of the more notable books include Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible by Jenny Lawson, My Fight Your Fight by Ronda Rousey, The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins and The House Of Hades by Rick Riordan.
The only way Chapters and Indigo books has promoted this program is by an online newsletter. Unlike American bookseller Barnes and Noble, Indigo rarely issues press releases or makes a concentrated effort to reach out to traditional and online media. I really think the problem stems from high level executives within the company, such as Janet Eger, the VP of Communications and her staff. They are totally asleep at the wheel when it comes to brand awareness.
