Digital content creator Pocket Entertainment has announced the launch of Pocket Toons, its new comic platform that would leverage the power of AI for content creation and storytelling. All of that is going to be possible thanks to the use of the new Blaze feature that Pocket Toon is based on. Blaze is an AI-enabled studio that is designed to provide impetus to artists and writers in a way that enhances their creativity while enabling them to produce high-quality comic content 20 times faster than would otherwise have been possible. Apart from speeding up the production process, Blaze also brings down the production costs to just a third of the usual costs.
Blaze works by automating tasks such as background rendering, scene composition, coloring, and quality control. With these accomplished by AI, the artists are free to channel their entire creativity on storytelling and character development, stuff that adds to the content quality. This way, Pocket Toons is able to release three comic episodes per day which marks a huge jump over the usual industry standard of three episodes released per week for comics. As already stated, the production process gets speeded up by 20 times at just a third of the cost.
“Pocket Toons is not about replacing human creativity—it’s about enhancing it. As we look ahead, AI-driven platforms like ours will be instrumental in shaping the future of entertainment, bridging the gap between artistic ambition and scalable production,” said Shreyas Joshi, senior vice president of Pocket Toons. “We are producing content 20x faster at a third of the cost, making high-quality comics more accessible than ever.”
No wonder Pocket Toons is already experiencing huge growth even though it saw a beta launch just in January 2025. The company said they are hosting 30 comic titles already with users spending an average of 60 mins on the platform daily. Paying users are spending over 2 hours on the platform every day. The app has seen over 100,000 downloads in the past two weeks while the total reading time has gone past the 6 million minutes mark during the beta phase. Buoyed by the success, Pocket Entertainment said they have earmarked $15 million to scale up Pocket Toons in 2025 and is hoping to generate $100 million in annualized revenue run rate (ARR) by 2026.
“With its proprietary AI-powered studio, Blaze!, Pocket Toons is setting new benchmarks in the comics industry—redefining storytelling by blending human creativity with AI-driven efficiency,” said Harsha Kumar, partner at Lightspeed. “As one of our portfolio companies, Pocket FM continues to push the boundaries of innovation, proving that India is at the forefront of shaping the future of global entertainment.”
All of this comes at a time when the global comics industry is projected to be worth $11.39 billion by 2030. This marks a considerable jump from the $8.63 billion that the segment has been valued at in 2023. It is expected to be valued at an even higher $15.38 billion by 2033. Pocket Toons seems to be well placed to capitalize on the huge growth trajectory.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
