We have a breaking news update today! Amazon has just stealthily added Canada to the approved list of supported countries for Kindle Publishing for Blogs. Until now, the USA and UK were the only countries that had the Kindle feature where you actually get paid for distributing your content. Today, it seems Canada was added to the list and publishers can now add a Canadian address and payee details. Currently it is only possible to get paid via a check, Amazon has not updated the direct deposit information yet.
Amazon has not officially stated anything as of yet, so this is a Good e-Reader Exclusive! This whole situation really benefits Canadian based publishers who now gain the ability to generate some extra income with a very Kindle friendly format to catch up with a Kindle optimized version of their favorite blog. One of the main benefits is that you can read it offline, or within your favorite Kindle e-Reading app.
Update: We have news that self-published authors are now seeing Canada appearing in their list of supported countries for KDP.
