Libraries are investing more money in a proper digital collection and patrons are starting to take notice. In 2015 over 30 different libraries in Canada and the United States loaned out over 1 million e-book titles. It looks like this record is going to be absolutely smashed in 2016.
Overdrive has reported that 50 library systems achieved over 500,000 digital checkouts in the first six months of the year with another 15 systems in range at more than 400,000 circulations through June. These libraries come from around the world with five representing Canada, two coming from New Zealand and Singapore, and the rest from the U.S.
