The Steve Jobs autobiography written by Walter Isaacson is poised to be the top selling book on Amazon in 2011. On the strength of pre-orders, the book is the 13th best selling edition on Amazon and it only went on sale today.
The book covers the life and times of Steve Jobs and gives you an introspective on how he went about developing the products that made Apple a critical success. “The way things are trending, it could very likely be our top-selling book of the year,” Amazon spokeswoman Brittany Turner said in a statement.
The book should garner a tremendous source of revenue for publisher Simon & Schuster, who is pricing the book under the agency rules. Amazon has the Kindle version of the book costing $17.00, while iBooks is selling it for $16.99! This is one of the most expensive books to purchase in electronic form of the year and already many book sellers are getting negative reviews on the cost of the book.
