If you’re one of the many lifelong fans who still feels a pang of regret that you never received your owl post letter of invitation to Hogwarts, there’s some bright news from Pottermore. The fan-driven wizarding world of Harry Potter is now offering a new “immersive” digital experience that lets users travel around the icon school and grounds.
“We’ve seen many interpretations of Hogwarts – from the artwork in the illustrated editions of the books to the eight feature films from Warner Bros.,” said Henriette Stuart-Reckling, Global Digital Director, Pottermore, in a press release. “This new feature on our website marks the first time fans will have the opportunity to explore the famous wizarding school any time, any place and at their own pace. It’s a unique, mobile-first experience using bespoke visual assets allowing anyone to ‘visit’ Hogwarts on-the-go.”
Today’s launch lets users explore three key aspects of the books’ setting: the school’s exterior, the ever-popular but supposedly off-limits Forbidden Forest, which includes Hagrid’s house, and the Quidditch pitch, just in time for fall sports fanaticism to kick off in reality. Users can experience this new feature and other aspects of Pottermore on a wide range of compatible devices simply by logging in to their free accounts. Be sure to find all of the “hotspots” scattered throughout the grounds, as they are clickable areas that users can expand to provide even more details about Hogwarts.
