Autharium Publishing the first direct eBook publisher in the UK has just launched their new Direct to Author website! Authors can take advantage of their new proprietary publishing platform. There you can upload or create a new book from scratch, submit it for publication approval and QC checks, and then have it published and distributed by Autharium in a matter of days.
The royalty program for the Direct to Author program is fairly solid, giving more than most other websites distributing ebooks. You can garner 85% of all net royalties and retain 100% copyright ownership of your literary works.
When you submit a book to Autharium they allow you to do it in a myriad of formats. They currently support Microsoft Word doc, docx, html, ePub, rtf, lit, mobi, PDF, text, and TCR. They also have an in-page book editor in order to edit your books in real time on their website. Once your book is uploaded they will automatically convert it to popular ebook formats.
Once your book is published on the Autharium system, they will create a British Library CIP record for your eBook. Then they will create a full Nielsen record and distribute to over 13,000 libraries worldwide.
Not only will your new book be submitted to many libraries, but they will also submit it to Amazon, Blackwells, Books-a-million, Books on Board, Barnes and Noble, BookDepository, Foyles, Kobo, Papataka, Tesco, Waterstones, and WHSmith.
This seems like a great new service for people who want to experiment in the realms of digital publishing and want a more DIY sort of platform. They have great tools to conform your ebook to popular industry standards and will submit it to more websites than any other direct ebook publishing company.
