E Ink is best known for being an industry leader in the e-reader arena. Their e-paper displays are synonymous with the Kindle, Kobo and Nook. According to recent financial results for the 3rd quarter of 2015 e Ink has reported that 70% of their revenue continues to derive from e-paper screens and the rest stems from luggage tags in addition to handset and other EPD applications, the firm said.
E Ink has garnered $136.33 million US in the 3rd quarter of 2015 and this has primarily been due to Amazon placing more orders for their current generation of Kindles. Kobo also placed an order with the company for the Kobo Touch 2.0.
It is very likely that e-Ink will have a very large 4th quarter because there are a number of new products coming out. Amazon is going be releasing a 2nd generation Kindle Voyage and Barnes and Noble has the Nook Glowlight Plus.
