Here is a smart monitor that comes with an E Ink display and is designed to show the information that you need. The TRMNL, as the monitor is named, comes with a built-in aluminum stand that can be used to place it on the table or can be mounted on the wall. It offers a distraction-free access to the information you need, with no ad interruptions in between. There aren’t any apps needed or any subscription fees applicable as well. No need to log in for the same too.

The monitor otherwise comes with a 7.5-inch monochrome E Ink display. The 1800 mAh battery (included in the package), can last three months comfortably on a single full charge. The makers also stated there is going to be OTA updates provided automatically for the entire lifetime of the device and not for a fixed time window. It boasts a very simple design with no buttons or sensors onboard.

All that you need to do with the TRMNL is to power it on and then connect to the Wi-Fi. Once online, it can stream the information you need without letting things overwhelm you. The company also has scores of plugins to offer with more being added regularly. The company also stated the plugins are going to be free and won’t ever be charged. You can have information such as news headlines, sports scorecards, weather info, real-time stock market updates, and so on.

The TRMNL measures 6.75 x 4.5 x 4 inches in dimensions and weighs 165 grams. It comes with a USB Type-C port for charging the battery while the case is made of soft-touch ABS plastic material. The monitor is currently on Kickstarter where 726 backers have already pledged 81,770 USD. That far surpasses the original funding goal of $5000 with still 27 days to go. The makers plan to ship the monitors by August this year, which is quite commendable for a device that was conceived just in October last year. The monitor however is only going to ship in the United States, the UK, and the EU right now.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
