Welcome back to another installment of the Good e-Reader Radio Show! We have reached a lull in product reviews and new e-readers coming out, so now we can sit back and talk about them all. The new Nook HD, Kobo Arc, iPad Mini, and Kindle 8.9 are all due out in November, and we will be overflowing with reviews and articles about them! I will make sure we do an audio broadcast when these hit our labs, so you can hear our early thoughts and impressions.
Today on the show we talk about some of the details surrounding the Penguin and Random House merger. What it means to the industry and what type of control each company will have. This is a huge deal, and the effects will reverberate throughout the industry for years to come.
The New Microsoft Tablet and Windows 8 was commercially released last Friday and we did tons of video and written content on it. I’ll give you the lowdown about the Kindle, Kobo, Overdrive, Zinio, and Kno apps that were released. lastech Really, Windows 8 is a huge paradigm shift over any other iteration of the OS ever released. It has been totally revised and is generally more optimized towards phones and tablets. If you want a verdict on what we think of the tablet and if you should buy it, listen to the show!
