Over 400 indie bookstores in the USA are currently participating with the American Booksellers Association to sell the Kobo Glo and Mini e-readers. The device only hit the USA last week, which is almost a month since it first debuted in Canada.
The Kobo Glow and Mini e-readers are being distributed in the USA by the Ingram Group. All of the new devices and related accessories have started to ship from Ingram’s LaVergne, Tennessee distribution center. They hit the West Coast around October 25th and are expected to hit the East Coast in the next few days.
There is a great resource page that will allow booksellers to register accounts and get all the information they need. When bookstores sell the readers to customers, the patron can select the store they bought it from. This will establish a consistent revenue stream for the indies and will ensure they get a piece of each digital book sold. One of the cool aspects of the ABA support platform is that it features unboxing videos of the Kobo Glo and Mini by Good e-Reader!
