Amazon has updated their iOS App today for the iPad and iPhone! This brings about major changes to their international support for foreign markets. The primary new languages offered are; French, Spanish, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese.
Amazon on Friday issued support for the French language via its push into France. The company opened its first ebook store in that country and is offering thousands of new books. A few months ago they jumped into the German market with the same sort of tactics. Allow publishers and authors to submit their own books and make agreements with major publishers to carry books in those language markets.
The iOS update continues to build around their European push into expanded ebook markets. This is great for people looking for an alternative way to buy books.
The other big part of this update is new page turn animations on both the iPad and iPhone. In order to get this new feature you have to go into your settings and then turn page turn animations ON. Now the Kindle App finally has great animations that feel much akin to the iBooks experience. You can peak at the next page and get very fluid page turns. I like it better this way then the sliding default method.
Finally they simplified the entire customer service experience and adjusted some brightness settings.
