Amazon Kindle Unlimited has just launched in China and this service allows customers to subscribe for 12 yuan a month, which is roughly $1.89 US. There are 44,000 e-Books from Chinese publishers taking part in the program, which should be very compelling for people who do not like to buy e-books.
An unlimited e-book subscription service is exactly what Amazon needs in China right now. Zhu Ning, an economist, who recently published a book named The Guaranteed Bubble, said the number of books read by Chinese people is “embarrassingly low.”
